Testing of Power Tool Batteries

We have experience testing lithium-ion batteries of various capacities used in power tools and similar devices. While we are not a certified battery testing laboratory, we can help verify whether a battery’s declared characteristics match its real-world performance. 

We can conduct the following battery tests:

• Discharge and charge testing
  Verify how the battery performs during controlled charging and discharging cycles.
• Overcurrent protection testing
  Ensure that overcurrent protection mechanisms activate correctly to prevent damage.
• Short-circuit protection testing
  Confirm that the battery’s short-circuit safeguards function as intended.
• Under- and over-voltage protection testing
  Check that voltage protection thresholds are implemented and triggered properly.
• Capacity vs. discharge rate testing
  Measure how battery capacity varies under different discharge rates.
• BMS leakage current measurement
  Assess leakage current in the battery management system (BMS) to ensure energy efficiency and safety.
• Data-exchange protocol testing
  Evaluate communication protocols between the battery/BMS and host systems.
